1、表示習(xí)慣的、永久性的或反復(fù)發(fā)生的動作（常用often， sometimes， usually， always， twice a month， every week， on sundays， occasionally， every so often， as a rule， rarely等狀語連用）

2、表示特征、能力或現(xiàn)時的情況或狀態(tài) 。
例句：He loves music 。
他喜歡音樂 。

一般過去式的用法：

例句：She suddenly fell ill yesterday 。

2、一般過去時亦可與“today今天， this week這周， this month這個月， this year今年”等表示現(xiàn)階段時間狀語連用 。
例句：Did you meet him today？

3、表示過去的習(xí)慣性或經(jīng)常發(fā)生的動作 。
例句：I went to the cinema once a week when I was at school 。
