4.數(shù)字
1). 整數(shù)和小數(shù)的讀法
3.24可以讀作three point twenty-four或three twenty-four 。在美國買東西都要含稅,
所以價(jià)錢多半都帶有小數(shù)點(diǎn), 通常小數(shù)點(diǎn)可以說 point，也可以直接省略 。另外比較正式的說法為 three dollars and

整數(shù)中比較特殊的就是電話號碼了，讀電話號碼的原則是在清楚的基礎(chǔ)上，越簡單越好 。人們在讀電話號碼時(shí)，習(xí)慣一個(gè)數(shù)字一個(gè)數(shù)字地說, 以求清楚,

four five，也可以讀為 seven seven o, twenty-one

2). 分?jǐn)?shù)和科學(xué)記數(shù)的讀法
1/2 可以讀為one half 或 one over two 。1/2 的說法跟 1/3、1/4 都不一樣, 它不讀為 one
second，而要用 one half 。而 one of two 常用在數(shù)學(xué)上, 強(qiáng)調(diào) 1 除以 2, 這種說法在日常生活中用得比較少 。至于1/3
是one third，1/4 是 one fourth等，大家對這種說法都已經(jīng)很熟悉了 ， 在此不多說，但要注意兩點(diǎn)：在日常生活中，用 one
quarter 表示1/4比用 one fourth 更多一些；2/3 要說 two thirds, 也就是說分母那個(gè) third 要加
s，不要忘記 。
科學(xué)記數(shù)如1.23×10-4 可讀為 one point two three times ten to the minus
four(negative four)；one point two three times ten minus four 或 one point
two three ten minus four 。第一個(gè)是最正確的說法,
但有時(shí)為了簡便會(huì)有不同程度的省略 。像第二、三個(gè)省略適用在別人知道你在說科學(xué)符號的場合 ， 例如老師上課時(shí)，或同學(xué)討論功課時(shí)，不然別人有可能會(huì)誤會(huì)你的意思 。
