1. 用基數(shù)詞+序數(shù)詞表示:
分?jǐn)?shù)在英語(yǔ)中通常是借助于基數(shù)詞和序數(shù)詞來共同表達(dá)的 。其中基數(shù)詞表示分子,序數(shù)詞表示分母 。如:
The centimeter is one-tenth of the decimeter or one-hundredth of the meter.
厘米是分米的十分之一,或者說是米的百分之一 。
However, the number of the boys will be less than a third of the girls in the class.
但是班里男生的人數(shù)將比女生的三分之一更少 。
*從以上例子可以看出:分子為1時(shí),既可以用 one,也可用a 。
2. 如果分子大于1,分母則要用復(fù)數(shù)形式 。如:
三分之一 one-third;三分之二 two-thirds
3. 二分之一不能說 a second,而要說 a half 。
